Xirolivado is a settlement in Central Macedonia in the Imathia Regional Unit.
Geographical - historical data
Xirolivado is located in the southwestern part and towards the border with the Regional Unit of Kozani at a distance of 21 km. southwest of Veria. It is built at an altitude of 1,220 meters on a plateau of Mount Vermio and is one of the most mountainous settlements in Greece. Next to the settlement, during the summer months, a small lake is formed, which the inhabitants of the area call Bara.
The settlement is very old and dates back to Byzantine times, without it being known how it was called then. It is mentioned in writing in the documents of the court of Veria from 1640-41 onwards. It was destroyed many times before by burnings and bandits. It was destroyed in 1795 by robbers and the inhabitants of about 300 houses were scattered to other places, especially in Macedonia. It was rebuilt, perhaps in 1805 and became the estate of Ali Pasha. It was destroyed again in 1822 along with the destruction of Naoussa, and rebuilt in 1880-90.

It is officially mentioned, after the Balkan Wars and the liberation of Macedonia, in 1918, written as Xirolivado, in the Government Gazette 98A - 05/05/1918 to be annexed to the municipality of Veria. According to the "Kallikratis" Program and its amendment Kleisthenis I, together with Koumaria they constitute the community of Koumaria which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Veria of the Municipality of Veria, while according to the 2011 census 96 inhabitants were enumerated.
